October Minutes Approved – Jacki Van Hout

Budget – Al Haber

  •  Audit occurred and tax filing was submitted.

  • FOM Maintenance increased to allow for an external company to support company matching for fundraising.


Communication Process – Roona Shah/Millie Frank

  •  FOM Communication Process to be distributed after the meeting.


Comments:

Can four weeks be reduced for the approval process? Request is specific to the BDB. 

Social – Rowena Dumas/Kemper Florin

  • Mom’s Night Out - $2800 raised

  • Dad’s Night Out on November 8th at Happy Camper

Community Outreach – Sarah Polachek

Local organization that helps the Houseless

Art Decorating event for their space where participation will be limited

  • Coat Drive (11/17-11/19)

Pledge Drive – Update given by Nicki McNair for Michelle Ramirez

• Pledge Drive theme: Building Together11/1 – 12/17 – 7 weeks

$350K goal and 100% participation including 100% FOM board participation early on.

Fundraising has hit $33.5K so far in the first 3 days

Volunteers needed for 11/23 updates

Focus on different grade bands for room parents’ communication as needed

Sponsorship/Fundraising – Nicki McNair

  • J Crew Factory Fundraiser - $262 raised

  • Papa Johns - $219 raised

Was October 25th for 5 – 9 pm, Pick-up or Delivery, 10% given back to Friends of Mayer. 

  • Building Blocks (11/15-11/19)

15% Giveback to Mayer.

  • Barnes and Noble Book Fair (12/1)

Book fair benefit includes Café.

No events due to COVID but they’ll have books/table set up.

Teacher book selections are included.

Families must say they are there for Oscar Mayer when checking out to get credit from B&N sales.

Miscellaneous

  • Teacher Lunch: Still finding restaurants, etc. to help – Julie Schulhof and Sandy Baccam

  • Mayer Spirit Wear store – Nicki McNair working with Al Haber & Sandy Baccam

Supply chain issues with apparel so hoping to get pre-sale going soon

Hoping to have deliver week of 12/13

  • School supplies – Nicki McNair

Talked to 3 companies and sticking with School Toolbox. They were the best price and more reliable than others

  • Outdoor Committee – Julie Schulhof

3 committees for various safety items such as moving sidewalk

Brian from Sheffield Neighbors participated

  • FOM Committee outdoor event at Roona’s house

Teambuilding board bonding time

She will come up with some dates/times and send a doodle out

Meeting adjourned at 8 pm.
